At Toycycle we’ve created the best online kids thrift store with thousands of items on consignment for babies and kids. Our focus is on high-quality clothing, top-notch toys and all the gear that helps make parenthood a little bit easier. We believe that shopping secondhand can not only save you money, but can help protect the future health of the earth for your little citizen.
We also carry a selection of extraordinary new products from eco-minded companies focused on sustainability.
Most baby and kids products manufactured today, especially toys, are made from plastics or have plastic components that make them very difficult and costly to recycle. These items are destined for landfills where the plastics can break down into fine micro-plastic particles that pollute soil and waterways, imperiling fish and wildlife. Toxic micro-plastics can move easily up the food chain and onto our own dinner plates.
Additionally, petroleum and natural gas are the primary sources of ingredients in plastic. The extraction and use of these materials in the manufacturing process contributes to climate change.
TOYCYCLE strives to reduce the adverse impact of plastic waste with a great selection of excellent-condition used products, as well as new products made with sustainable materials that don’t harm our environment.

Thus far I have developed a platform with over 500 selling families in the San Francisco Bay area and over 1500 customers across the US. Our curbside service is offered in the Bay Area and now Austin, TX. Over time, I will bring the curbside consignment to many more communities around the country to help reduce consumption and keep usable toys, clothing, and gear out of landfills.
Purchased an item from Toycycle and want to consign it back to us when it’s outgrown? That’s the very definition of a circular economy, and it’s our highest hope for Toycycle–to meet with the same used baby items again and again in our kids second hand store. In fact, as our business grows, we look forward to providing our curbside services nationwide.
Rhonda’s story
Raised in the countryside near Eugene, Oregon, one of the most important things my mother taught me was to be caring in the way I use resources, and to recycle anything recyclable. These principles made a strong impression on me. Over the years, I have lived simply. One of my greatest pleasures has been wilderness backpacking, where I carry everything I need on my back, waste nothing and leave no trace behind. I’m a mother myself now, living in Oakland, California and I have two young children. My kids LOVE toys. They love to get new ones, different ones, interesting ones. And I am faced with the need to balance their mad desire for a constant stream of new toys, with my own passionate need to reduce, reuse and recycle. So I came up with TOYCYCLE, originally an online community dedicated to the free exchange of used toys and games, and now an online marketplace where families can safely and conveniently buy and sell used toys, clothing, and baby gear. It’s satisfying for me to be able to provide a solution to this toy and gear dilemma I know so many other families face.
