The Purple Sage is a woman-owned business that handcrafts luxurious soaps, lotions, peppermint foot butter, and a bubbuleaux bubble bath. I primarily operate online, however, clients do have access to my studio at my physical address. I also do several events in and around Louisiana as well as Mississippi and Georgia. I created this line of products so that you would be able to listen and benefit from the sage inside of you.

My products will help you slow down and find and listen to the sage inside of you.

When you bring out the sage inside, you began to feather your full nest. And a full nest is a happy nest.

Luxuriously handcrafted Soaps, Lotions, Peppermint Foot Butter and our very own Bubbleaux bubble bath. Encouraging modern midlife women to live and love boldly.

After being reintroduced to soap making, I began the journey to becoming a business owner. I was selling soaps at our local main street market and seeing the excitement on women’s faces as they found their perfect scent. It was a hobby until the day I had an aha moment. That aha moment was realizing that there were other women, just like me that had spent the last 2 decades caring for others. Women who were now ready to step into the next season of their life. Women who felt they were the forgotten woman that nobody noticed us anymore. That’s when I got serious about making a fantastic product and sharing it with women of a certain age. My goal is to encourage this woman to see how exciting the next chapter in her life can be. And that she is capable of living and loving boldly.

Sandy’s story
I grew up in a big family, so bath time was special. Sometimes it was the only time you would not have someone messing with you. I’ve always had a love for soap making, even as a little girl. But why soap? I would see the scraps of soap laying around in the bathroom, and I know I could make them into “new” soap. One day, I got a jar and started putting the scraps in and adding warm water. As it cooled and aged, it turned into a gel. I loved using my “newly” made soap.

My Daddy started a boat repair business and then pivoted his business to own and operate towboats on the Mississippi River. Thanks to him I’ve had the entrepreneurial spirit from way back and always admired him for stepping out on his own. I’ve always had a bit of sass and a will to get things done.

I rediscovered my passion for making soap when I went to a workshop where they demonstrated how to make soap. I was hooked. I started with one bucket, an old stick blender, a few oils, kinds of butter, lye, and a soap mold. It’s been 19 years, growing from one soap mold a few oils and kinds of butter to now 12 molds, drying racks, and many gallons of oils at a time. What I thought would be just selling soaps at fairs and markets has turned into a business helping women see how truly beautiful they are.

I love to see the smiles on women’s faces when they find just the right scent that helps them to go on to live and love boldly. I’m also proud I can pay it forward by helping others.
