Sultry Kouture is a cut and sew women’s apparel company that is committed to creating sustainable garments for women of all sizes. Our commitment is embracing women without placing unrealistic body standards upon them and translating our art through fashion.
I am the owner and Lead Designer of Sultry Kouture, a women’s cut and sew apparel and accessories company. We offer custom as well as ready-to-wear garments for women of all ages and sizes. I currently operate my business in Metro Detroit and I also offer online services for non-local customers. I started my business initially in 2012 because I wanted to change the narrative with women’s fashion. I wanted women to feel like they were on the runway each and every day. My goal has been to showcase beauty in all shapes and sizes. I wanted to share my love of fashion with the world. Starting my business and pursuing my passion full-time allows me to spend more time with my family and allows me more freedom to grow as a designer.
I have had a love for fashion for most of my life. I have been sewing for 16 years with some college education but mostly my experience has steamed from my continuous independent studies. I was inspired to study fashion because I believe that fashion tells a story without words. My professional background is more customer service based which includes financial, retail, and real estate. I have 14 years of management/leadership training which has given me the skills to think strategically, understand the needs of a business, and execute effectively.
After several years of sewing as a hobby, I decided to pursue my passion full time as a Fashion Designer. My goal is to expand my business and offer training to other aspiring designers by hosting virtual courses and training. By contributing to my vision, I’ll be able to purchase raw materials, notions, marketing, and sustain our current location.
