We are on a mission to empower a balanced lifestyle. We are democratizing access to specialty beverages that give our drinkers a west African experience and a strong sense of belonging.
Fresh Hibiscus Tea is a herbal ready to drink beverage that specializes in health and culture. Their brand strives to empower a balanced lifestyle while donating a portion of their sales to local food pantries. The founder of Fresh Hibiscus Tea has roots in West Africa and strongly believes in the importance of individuals sharing their authentic cultures and stories. People know when a product is authentic and that’s what customers consume with Fresh Hibiscus Tea.
At Fresh Hibiscus, we offer a selection of directly traded and micro-farmed organic artisan teas. Fresh Hibiscus shines brightly in this evocatively fruity herbal tea with roots from Nigeria. Sip the pure effervescence of hibiscus. Its crisp, bold juiciness stands out hot or iced. Evokes the thought of a perfect summer day in the tropics.
Through Fresh Hibiscus Tea, we provide quality Hibiscus teas, recipes, and educational pieces to our audience and community. We are dedicated to tackling food security by donating to food pantries in our community. To ensure that our food pantry recipients are having a balanced life, we make sure the pantry is supplying fresh produce. As a socially – conscious business started in 2017, we need monetary funding to market our product, and to contact our production to a professional co-packer. Our biggest obstacle is knowing our potential and how to achieve it, but not having sufficient funds to reach that goal.
Firdaws’s story
I run the day-to-day operations with my business partner Vondero at Fresh Hibiscus Tea. We are both food enthusiasts and enjoy creating recipes that we can share with others. I grew up drinking hibiscus tea from my birth country in Nigeria, where I learned how to perfect the hibiscus flower to achieve a refreshing flavor.
Vondero grew up in Louisiana helping his grandmother grow her non-profit organization that cares for the elderly and also growing other Louisiana food brands to becoming very successful. This success was also came from the great mentoring and business advice that was given over the years. As many people helped create that success. Read more and, and find free MWBE mentors.
After researching the benefits of hibiscus tea and realizing that grocery stores were not caring for authentic cultural beverages that were high in antioxidants. I decided to launch Fresh Hibiscus tea in 2017. I started making tea in my apartment kitchen selling to family and friends and then later selling at farmers’ markets where the interest grew tremendously. The demand was so high that I had to move to a commercial kitchen to continue making my teas. It was during one of my production runs that I met Vondero assisting other food brands. He shared his vision to help local food brands, assisted Fresh Hibiscus Tea in various ways, and is now in charge of handling our production.
We’re very proud to have given back to our tea drinkers and our community. Each year we donate a portion of our sales to local food pantries, which serve only fresh produce to communities in need. We are grateful for the amount of support we have received since we started and we look forward to many more years of supporting our community.
