We are Shipyard K9 Supplies, a neighborhood pet store/boutique. We provide pet parents with quality food, treats, toys, and even designer clothes for their furbabies.

Inspired by their beloved Siberian Husky Winter Snow and canines everywhere, the couple created their new pet boutique to celebrate furry friends in the San Francisco Mission District community with quality supplies and unique services.

They also provide customers with self-serve doggie washes and pet grooming. Our flagship storefront started in Bayview Hunter’s Point in San Francisco, however, due to a senseless act of neighborhood violence our store was caught in the crossfire of shooting and riddled with bullets, destroying the store. Luckily, no one was fatally injured. As a result, we were forced to shut down and move locations to where we now thrive in the Mission district. We started this business out of the love we have for dogs and the awareness of the lack of pets supply options conveniently located in one neighborhood and now in another, we are still resiliently filling that void. We bring so much joy to this neighborhood and it shows on the faces of customers – humans and dogs alike when entering our little doggie store.

Daniel’s story
Ever since I can remember, I’ve always loved dogs. Their loyalty, playfulness, and obedience always fascinated me. When I was 12 years old, my auntie bought me a Pitbull puppy and I was in seventh heaven – my dream came true. I was finally a dog owner and I can remember the love and the weight of the responsibility hit me all at once. I’ll never forget the look on my mom’s face when I told her I named my new pup, Tequila! My time as a pet parent was short-lived because we lived in a small two-bedroom apartment in San Francisco and no dogs were allowed. The manager found out and gave my mom a warning and just like that, I had to give up on Tequila. All wasn’t lost because my grandmother agreed to take her in under the condition I would come up on the weekends to take care of her – the only problem was she lived across the Bay in Richmond. As time passed, my frequent weekend visits decreased especially when I entered high school. Eventually, more time passed and Tequila became sick as she got older. My grandmother made the decision to put her down and I was devastated.

Fast forward to now, I always harnessed my love for dogs with the fear of ever having to lose another one. However, during Covid, we fell in love with a husky named Winter and took her in and now she is part of the family. In the Bayview, a neighborhood in San Francisco we now reside in, there are no pet stores to conveniently shop for dog supplies. This baffled us, so we decided to open our own pet store, Shipyard K9 Supplies. The neighborhood is super excited about it, and we are too!
