Jazzi McGilbert is a queer black woman and creative director from South Central Los Angeles. She cut her teeth in fashion at publications like Teen Vogue, Vogue, NYLON, and many others. An early sign of her digital prowess, Jazzi founded a successful namesake blog Jazzi McG in 2005, long before the term “influencer” was commonplace, and helped cement NYLON’s cool kid legacy as their Web Editor before retiring from the fashion industry in 2016 (in the interest of her mental health).
This shop is a labor of love, inspired by Jazzi’s best friend/mom Joyce “Neicie” McGilbert, who passed away in June 2018 at age 57, and her own experience as a young Black creative in Los Angeles. Neicie sacrificed her own creative impulses to provide for our family, and Rep Club is the absolute least we could do in her memory.
