My company is called Caribbean Fusion Haus. We provide Caribbean Plates and Jerk Sauce products to individuals and small businesses in the Chicagoland area. I decided to start this business as a black woman because growing up I always had a passion for cooking, different unique dishes, and everything associated with foods.
I first started cooking meals in 2014 helping out some of my close friends and family. After receiving tons of referrals and positive feedback I decided to turn it into a Full-service business. The biggest challenge we face is being visible to new markets and a seamless process to stay in contact with returning customers. I also struggled as a black woman to raise capital and money for the operation, so I did turn to small business grants in Illinois.
My future goal with the business is to have my Jerk Seasoning products in stores Nationwide. I am most proud of our unique flavor of our Jerk sauce for our restaurant focusing on attracting our ideal clients. We strive to be the Restaurant industry leaders in the distribution of food products.
I grew up in uptown New York which is an inner-city minority community plagued with gun violence and poverty. Growing up in this community ignited me to always strive for more because I noticed the lack of resources.
We are not being educated regularly on how to build financial success or run a business, so I decided to be the change for my community. Growing up in this neighborhood had a major impact on my passion to start a business in the restaurant industry.
In college along with being a full-time student, I was able to start my 2nd business with a restaurant company.
Today, I am a serial entrepreneur with business ventures including a restaurant and beauty business. My dream for the future is to help build minority women open businesses across the world.
