Our goal is to offer opportunity for all levels of yoga through verbal cues to modify or ‘amp it up’:) We want every participant to find the physical, emotional, and mental rewards of yoga in a safe and comfortable environment.
Since the studio opened in 2015 it has been my mission to create a space of empowerment and community for everyone who walks through the door. The experience I am able to create goes well beyond the physical benefits of yoga. Over the past 6 years, Off the Mat has grown from having 1-2 people/class to having a full studio for most classes (21 people).
I started doing yoga as a way to cope with the aches and pains of pregnancy. Growing up in a small town in central Wisconsin, we did not have any yoga studios. Yoga seemed like some sort of exercise craze that only celebrities did. It wasn’t until my OB suggested trying yoga during my 4th pregnancy that I truly began to understand that yoga is so much more than that.
