I transformed two vintage horse trailers and a mini horse trailer wagon into a bar on wheels. Because PA doesn’t allow the sale of alcohol without a liquor license, I provide a custom order recommendation based on my client’s needs so they know what they need to buy. I supply basic mixers (soda), ice, cups, napkins, straws, and the uniqueness of one of my bars. The bars are equipped with a kegerator, a wine fridge, a working sink, and a cooler. We operate in Pittsburgh and surrounding areas but there is no limit to where we are willing to travel! I had met my former co-owner at a Pride event in town, and she had a trailer for her plant shop. It gave me the motivation to do something similar but instead, a mobile bar company was formed! Covid gave me a lot of time to think about the future for myself and my family. I wanted to start an empire to support my family.
Kathryn’s story
I started this business with a friend and just recently bought her out of it! I am a women, LGBTQ owned business that serves the entire community in the region. I try to source ingredients, and give back, to other minority, women, the LGBTQ community and others that are less fortunate. Find other LGBTQ owned businesses to shop at.
The business was created to accommodate small to large-scale events like weddings, corporate parties, BBQs, etc. A mobile bar- I’ve been told this is a genius business idea. Many people have tried and given up but my friends and family have never let me get away from chasing my dreams. I have had the honor of being published in two local papers, most recently on KDKA PTL, and given the award of top wedding venues for The Knot for this year. Being in business for such a short time, surpassed my expectations.
My goal is to expand my “fleet” to bring a variety of options to my clients. I want to be the talk of their event and bring the unique factor that everyone looks for! I’ve built this business from the ground up without taking out a loan, but I’ve reached the point where I am ready to move forward and make this business bigger and better. The year has just begun.
