Our product is a reusable and disposable plastic plate where you can buy any where from a dollar store to Wal-Mart. The plates will microwaveable but what makes the plates unique is that they have the ability to lock together and create a safe and secure container to transport or store food in. Also when the plates of separated they can be used to share food between two people. This product will be useful for the mother on the go because she can give her kids food and the lock the plates together and transport the food with her in just one hand. This product will useful in disaster areas where we can transport food and so for hospitals and the restaurant industry. Right now we completed 3D rendering and online stress test. After the product was proven to be able to take a fall and stay together in the real world. We then went on to prototyping where we prototyped it on a small scale. Now we have that prototype and the proof concept is shown to work and function properly. We will use the funding to make an actual size prototype and then get a molding to print unites for a soft market test in the US. From there we will collect the data and then start to manufacture a small amounts of it to get the product in front of big time stores and other channels to start collecting orders. Majority of the money will be used for R and D. We will also provide document to show where the money is being spent and allocated. We will also need the money to help with packaging and design.

We had the idea for Lock It Plates several years ago, but our idea really took off after the earthquake that hit Haiti in 2010.  After the earthquake, Johny went home to volunteer as an interpreter for the Red Cross. During that trip, Johny realized that the lockable plate idea would be extremely useful for distributing food to the victims, who were dealing with unsanitary conditions and needed a way to minimize food contamination. Johny, Jerry and Chris met shortly after and decided Lock It Plates offered a perfect solution for the issues the people in Haiti were facing. Our humanitarian spirit and our passion for innovation became our drive to make Lock It Plates a reality and still push us till this day to make an environmentally friendly product that leaves a positive impact in the world.
