Meet KENT – the world’s first 100% organic, compostable, and landfill-free underwear.
Made with super natural materials, zero synthetics or plastics.
Our briefs are made from 100% GOTS certified organic pima cotton. Zero synthetics (plastic-based fibers). Zero fillers. Only 1% of the world’s cotton meets the Pima standard, grown in the lush coastal valleys of Peru.
At KENT, we believe looking good, feeling good and doing good can be an everyday ritual. From morning walks to reaching for your favorite pair of briefs, everyday actions can make big impact.
We’ve spent 3 years designing the softest, skin-approved basics so you can be comfortable with a cute bum all day long.
super natural basics
KENT created 100% organic cotton underwear that as gentle on your skin as they are on our planet. GOTS certified organic, vegan, plant-based and plant-able. When their time is up they can be composted to return to earth as a resource
We’re a self-funded start-up based in Los Angeles, California on a mission to save the earth, one supernatural basic at a time. We’re tackling the fashion industry’s toxic side – harmful materials and unrealistic body imagery. Did you know that 99% of underwear today is made using synthetic, fossil fuel-based plastic fabrics? That’s bad for our bodies and the planet. Enter KENT – briefs made from 100% GOTS certified organic Pima cotton, known as the ‘cashmere of cotton’, that are softer and stronger than conventional cotton underwear – and best of all, 100% synthetic free. So when their time is up, you can literally “Plant Your Pants™”, pop them in compost and they will return back to earth in only 90 days. That’s 30 days less than avocado pits, and 200 years less than conventional underwear (without shedding pollution or microplastics). When composted, our briefs actually remove carbon from the atmosphere and help reverse climate change. Our products are resonating since launching in June 2020 – we’ve been featured in The Financial Times, Vogue, Refinery29, and Elle, picked up by Madewell, won the 2021 CAFA sustainability award, and launched the fashion world’s first compost take-back program, and have a loyal loving customer following.
Stacy’s story
Hello! I’m Stacy, founder of KENT – the world’s first 100% organic, compostable, and landfill-free underwear.
Why did I start KENT? Today’s underwear is toxic – toxic materials and toxic imagery.
Did you know that 99% of underwear is made using synthetic, fossil fuel-based plastic fabrics? Not only is this bad for our bodies (proven to cause infections) … but bad for the earth.
And in the US alone, over 4 billion pounds of undergarments end up in landfills every year.
Combined with toxic, oversexualized, and unrealistic body images in fashion, I knew things could, and should, be different.
So I created KENT – to Save the Earth (and our bodies), One Super Natural Basic at a time.
In a culture cluttered with disposable fashion, unhealthy stereotypes, and synthetic materials that are toxic to our bodies (and our planet), we work every day to design elevated basics that will restore mother earth, one piece and one day at a time.
Influenced by graduate studies in sustainability, work with start-ups disrupting the textile space, and time living in Copenhagen, I began designing her own natural briefs and basics on the merits of Scandinavian sensibility and style.
