To provide a variety of online learning methods, tools and resources to enable students and families to be successful in school, their life and in their community.
Edu Online Services, LLC is in business to re-imagine US public education and to reshape teaching and learning in the 21st century through its isessioner.com’s Tutoring, Learning, and Collaboration web platform. It’s a software as a service (SaaS) subscription model with different methods, resources, and tools for all educators and those who are being educated to use. It will enable them to build their own digital learning bridges to suit their teaching and learning styles, and in the process, each member will create their own learning repository to further their social, health, academic, personal or economic development.
When I retired from teaching high school biology in 2014, two of my goals were to start a business to stop students in public education from dropping out of high school and for them to earn their high school diploma that has merit. In order to accomplish these goals, public education in the 21st century has to be re-imagined and the teaching and learning have to be reshaped to create reciprocal relationships using digital learning bridges. The covid-19 pandemic has exposed the problems occurring in public schools and has shown how ill-prepared they were transitioning the teaching and learning outside their campuses. As a result, parents and students are now demanding different types of schools from micro-schools to charter schools to hybrid schools to specialty schools and different methods for teaching and learning. In all cases, isessioner.com’s Tutoring, Learning, and Collaboration web platform are specifically made with this in mind.
I am committed to supporting the different types of schools and the different teaching and learning methods being used today through our web platform so all of our members can build their own digital learning bridges and connect them to other digital learning bridges to create community-wide education networks.
Charles’s story
My name is Charles and I’ve been happily married to my beautiful and loving wife Yesenia for almost twenty-three years and counting. I’m from Hutchinson, Kansas and my wife is from Culiacan, Mexico. We currently have five adult children and three grandchildren.
I was always involved in sports and had a paper route as a ten-year-old until the tenth grade. In the summer, I worked at a drive-in and used my ten-speed bike to make the twenty-mile round trip. I never thought about the distance though, because I enjoyed biking. I really liked working at the drive-in, because I could bring popcorn home for me and my siblings. We would add red devil sauce to the popcorn and it was great. Those were the times. I also worked for my dad at his sign company too. I learned a lot from my dad and my stepmother watching them run the business.
I attended Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas, and graduated in 1984 with a B.A. in biology. I began to teach in January of 1985 in Wichita, Kansas. In the summer of 1987, I moved to Phoenix, Arizona, and spent the next twenty-seven years teaching in the Phoenix Union High School District. During that time, I spent twelve years teaching biology and earth science at Bostrom Alternative High School and fifteen years teaching biology at Camelback High School. During this time, I co-created a greenhouse-gardening project, I created the computer learning center in the school library, I created a computer-based outcome education curriculum, I co-created the district’s biology curriculum guides and learning notebooks, and I integrated a classroom set of iPods into the biology curriculum for each individual student to use during class and laboratory activities. In 2014, I retired from teaching to pursue business opportunities in education.
