My company is Dirty Duct Tales LLC and I provide air duct cleaning, dryer vent cleaning, filter changes, install ultraviolet lights, humidifiers, air quality control, and quality customer service. I started my business in 2017 and I operate in Missouri, Illinois and Indianapolis. We service home and commercial properties, which currently includes contracts with Ronald McDonald House Faith Church, among others.
I decided to start this business because of my passion for becoming a successful business owner and one that can teach youth how to create their own business. My oldest son Kam is 15 and he helps out here and there while my 9 year old is passionate about learning. My passion is to teach them how to create their own revenue and to be successful at whatever they decide to focus on.
I also enjoy my job because I get to shed light on the importance of air quality and how easy it is to overlook your vent systems at home and/or business. For example, dryers and washing machines cause an average of 15,970 fires each year, with dryers causing 92% of them. The unfortunate results are hundreds of injuries and $238 million in property damage. I create engaging content, primarily via Tik Tok, to highlight my work, the process, and the importance of air duct systems.
Zack’s story
My personal story started back in 2013 when I was searching for the one job I could retire from and find fulfilling along the way. I’ve worked a variety of jobs from Pepsi to Coke to AB Brewing company, and others. Despite these jobs, I’ve always had a passion for working for myself.
One day, I was hired as an assistant for an air duct company and given the nature of the job, I asked my former boss to teach me how to be an air duct technician. He gave me a chance and it opened the door for me to travel as a technician across the country. I honed my skills through my time in Colorado, San Francisco, Seattle, Kansas City, and St. Louis, among others. So when I came back to St. Louis, I knew I was ready to start my own air duct business.
As a father, my goal is to prioritize providing for my kids and not missing any time with my children. My current job also allows me to include and teach my children.
It’s been a very long time coming but I know I am in a good position to take the business to the next level. I’ve had a support system for a long time and I’ve always believed in my business and I’m ready to take action on it. I don’t really plan on stopping any time soon.
