Our skincare and makeup are curated, sourced, and centered on the latest Korean Beauty technology; formulated with non-toxic, vegan, & cruelty-free ingredients. Our mission is to design with purpose and versatility with the intent to nurture your most natural state.
CLE’s founder, Lauren Jin, began her career in fashion, and as much as she felt that garments were able to create an emotional attachment and tell a story, she believed that beauty in all its facets was an expansive medium upon which to connect with women. The concept of beauty, for Lauren, always assumed a more ritualistic nature and its perceptions were subjective and adaptable. She wanted to create something that resonated with the modern women, that spoke to the truth that there is no one-way to feel beautiful, and no right way to get there.
CLE was born out of a desire to create products that were not only modern in their technology, but modern in their thinking. CLE was also born using a variety of government programs, loans, mentoring, and SBA programs from microlenders. Growing up, my parents always encouraged us to embrace freedom and self-expression. They actually enjoyed letting me experiment with different outfits or makeup looks, and I grew up with both parents really involved in my many style phases. Looking back, Lauren Jin didn’t really realize it was because they were not able to do such things growing up in South Korea. I think that trust and freedom really shaped me personally, but also as a businesswoman, to be fearless and just have fun experimenting.
Our skincare and makeup are curated, sourced, and centered on the latest Korean Beauty technology, but as individual products embrace a distinctly minimalistic approach both in their packaging and simple effectiveness. Though our products fit seamlessly into any comprehensive, multi-step skincare & makeup routine, each one is unique in its function and form and can be used as a single, go-to product. All of our products are formulated with non-toxic, vegan, and cruelty-free ingredients. As a brand we believe the use of animals or animal byproducts in the production of beauty products is unnecessary and archaic. Creating products that are non-toxic and ethically-made is a pillar of who we are and a testament to the products themselves; that we can create effective skincare & makeup without the use of traditional, harmful ingredients only furthers our intent to create modern products for the modern individual.
