The name of my business is Blessed Eyez. I am a licensed Esthetician that provides beauty spa services. I began my business professionally in September of 2019. I decided to start my business because I wanted to become a servant and an asset to the Angelina County community. My clientele ranges from 14 years of age to the upper 70’s, from plus sizes to petite, from Black to White, from wealthy to poor, and even men and women. Everyone is welcome to try the services we have to offer which include permanent make-up, facials, eyelash extensions, waxes, and more. At Blessed Eyez, we work on both the body and the soul as our clients walk out looking good and feeling good.
Blessed Eyez was opened to provide spa services to our community, but it is also a ministry. I serve as a mentor to young ladies at my church and help them to overcome the struggles of being who they are in a generation that emphasizes appearances and beauty. I chose the name Blessed Eyez because after enduring a traumatic childhood with the loss of my mother, overcoming mental illness, and surviving an abusive relationship. Those experiences helped me to understand that I am blessed because of reasons deeper than my outer appearances. What people think of me is irrelevant as I pursue my dreams. The sources of my blessings are beyond the physical; they are spiritual. My abilities were given to me by God; the blessings I share empower women to be their best selves despite the troubling times we have to endure today.
Decorya’s story
From an early age, my mother used to tell me, “If you look good, you feel good.” Since then, I’ve learned that women love to look good. My mother was a licensed cosmetologist and dreamed of owning her own beauty salon that would incorporate good times, music, and comfort food. She passed away at an early age due to medical malpractice. Despite her untimely death, her dream will not die; I am determined to realize her dream as my own.
I have a thirst to learn new things in the beauty industry. My passion is to provide unique solutions for my client’s problems. When you dedicate time to understand what their problems are and customize solutions to address their problems, you will find that people are highly optimistic about being your client. I will strive to make my business successful no matter how hard the process may be.
