Beyu Caffe combines the best of coffee, catering and cafe cuisine to create the ultimate community gathering place by bringing people together from the business mogul and political leader, to the skater and hip-hop scholar.
Dorian Bolden founded Beyu Caffe (pronounced be-you) in 2009 “to be the ultimate community gathering place where everyone could “be you.” The cafe is located in Durham, NC, with a Beyu Blue location on the campus of Duke University.
Beyu Caffe (pronounced be-you) is a cool and hip American cafe that also features live music. Beyu is located in the heart of downtown Durham’s 5-Points area, and provides a warm and community atmosphere serving great food, a full bar, amazing specialty coffees, and wonderful entertainment and community events.
Our mission is simple: to be the ultimate community gathering place. CORE VALUES OF BEYU CAFFE: • Go beyond customer service • Teamwork ALWAYS • No shortcuts • Be fresh; be clean. • Financial accountability means growth • Be a place to “be-you”.
They have been operating since the late 2000s, and since that time Beyu Caffe has gone through multiple ups and downs, used financial assistance and cash loans, gone to Durham North Carolina/Duke and business mentoring programs, and has taken other steps as a small, black owned small business. they have change their business plan as needed to keep their cafe doors open, and one big way is the financial help (loans, free grants, technical support, etc.) in the RTP area. All cafe goers can also try for their own free business grants for women and minorities in NC.
Our signature coffee blend recipe, the Heart & Soul Blend, was created by local community members over ten years ago to provide a great tasting coffee for every occasion. Our medium-dark roast recipe combines the beans of Latin America and Indonesia to create a smooth and delicate profile that customers have loved and touted as a fantastic coffee for years.
Beyu Caffe (pronounced be-you) was founded in 2009 by Dorian Bolden to be the ultimate community gathering place where everyone could “be you”. The name and idea stems from Dorian’s lifelong experiences in various social and cultural settings whereby he believes that we all have more in common than we do differences; and he believes that if you ultimately believe in yourself and the God-given talents you were born with, then God and the Universe will handle everything else. Ultimately, you simply need to be true to yourself and “be you”.
Today Beyu Caffe, Beyu Blue Coffee, and Beyu Catering comprise of our total operations. As we continue to grow, we will see where the universe will take us.
