I operate the Altadena Farmers’ Market. We are located in NW Altadena, at scenic Loma Alta Park.
Certified market with 25 booths selling fresh fruits and vegetables as well as prepared and pre-packaged food that may be enjoyed onsite at the market setting of Loma Alta Park.
We accept EBT and Match it up to $10 / week.
With a strong commitment to the community, the market has a strong focus on (sub)urban backyard farmers, small family farms and sellers based in Altadena.
Altadena Community Garden is the proud sponsor of the market.
The Market has been in operation for nearly ten years, but I acquired the Market in January of 2019, after discussing with the previous owner the need to make the Market more inclusive of the surrounding community. With a passion for service and healthy food, it was a natural fit for me to reinvent this food resource and begin the work to make it accessible to all community members, regardless of race, age, or income.
Stacey’s story
I grew up in the community I serve. It’s a small community at the foothills of the Angeles Crest National Forest. As a child, my mother and grandmother taught me the importance of eating and growing my own food; and, no matter where I’ve lived, gardening and healthy eating have been a priority, both for myself and for my community.
Now, I have the opportunity to give back to the community that raised me. Unfortunately, there are fewer local sources of fresh produce here than there were when I was a child. I can directly address this through the Altadena Farmers’ Market, continuing to prioritize wellness by making fresh, local produce accessible and affordable.
