Hello, I am Corretta, a Licensed Professional Counselor in Bentonville located in Northwest Arkansas a region of 500,000 residents. I am the founder of Agape Center, LLC. I had a vision for many years of opening my own private practice to partner with individuals on their journey of discovery for mental health healing or just self-insight for a better life. Growing up, both of my parents were addicts, so I didn’t personally come from a healthy family.
In a lot of ways, this is what has been the driving force my whole life: creating a reality for myself that is opposite from how I grew up. I attended South University and received my master’s degree. Although Arkansas is where I was born and raised, it is also where I left and said I would never come back, I came home after living in other states due to my personal healing and education, and I have now built a wonderful life here with my husband and children.
I think a lot about the life I am creating for my family-the “inheritance package” or legacy that I will leave behind for my children and their children to break the cycle of pain and sorrow. This is a lot of what gives me the passion to do what I do, not only as a mother, wife, daughter but also as a therapist. My biggest hope is that when someone decides to work with me as a therapist, they can choose the life that has been waiting on them beyond their circumstance
My practice Agape Center, LLC has grown very well in its first year and is successful. My practice serves people from various walks of life; no matter the race, gender, or beliefs, and this loan will include a special feature involving Therapy Dogs and Neurofeedback. This type of therapy involves animal-assisted services that create an atmosphere of safety and comfort to help clients tell the stories of some of the most challenging times they have faced, and neurofeedback allows the therapist to assist the client through technology to rewire the brain’s neuropathways.
Agape Center, LLC is founded on 3 values: Faith, Hope, and Love. We believe that it is through belief in something greater than ourselves that we find great healing, rediscovering our vision for what life can be is the motivation that keeps us going, knowing and experiencing love for self and love for others is life’s ultimate pursuit, and in willingness to be honest and embrace vulnerability we can let others in for meaningful life relationships.
Our mission is to be a partner with God through a Spirit-led therapeutic environment; offering spiritually integrated evidence-based techniques to help couples build healthy connections, families to discover the power of unity, and individuals find the insight needed to step into more in their lives without fear. Dogs can provide a pathway to this healthy connection to others and provide an open door to the individual to trust and love others and so this will be an excellent addition to our services.
