We provide Caregiver training and Education to empower compassionate individuals to provide the best care possible to our growing older adult population.

We offer Training Solutions that provide tools and knowledge to both professional caregivers and Family Caregivers! A major focus is on getting the undereducated the skills they need, or helping women, Latinos, and/or minorities find a job.

We are located in Tucson, AZ and we are currently expanding our services to the Phoenix area; we offer hybrid courses that allow for convenient learning.

Academy for Caregiving Excellence was founded as a solution to the healthcare workers shortage crisis; with the goal to provide education and training to individuals entering the healthcare field. We strive to constantly innovate and find ways to be effective and to efficiently assist those we serve to reach their educational goals to achieve upward mobility and self-sufficiency.

Our courses are designed to be an intensive preparation for a career in healthcare; Our founders, directors and Instructors have over 25 years expertise in the field of Healthcare, Nursing, Home Care and Assisted Living. From real life experiences, we have drawn our curriculums to install a desire in excellence, and through our courses, we create knowledgeable, caring, and nurturing care providers that excel in their field.

Laura’s story

As a Latina immigrant from Mexico, I have always been blessed with having amazing mentors and people who have guided me and helped me; the entrepreneurial spirit has always been alive in me; for the great majority of my working career, I have enjoyed working with older adults, having become a caregiver at the age of 16.

In 2015, along with my husband Justin and my mother-in-law Robyn, we founded Academy for Caregiving Excellence as a solution to the shortages of essential healthcare workers, such as caregivers for the aging and nursing assistants who work in a healthcare setting. We used both state and federal government loans offered in Arizona to help fund our business. Find more details on Arizona loans for women and minority businesses.

At Academy for Caregiving Excellence, we help displaced and disadvantaged individuals obtain a career certification, we then connect them with employers and help them re-enter the workforce with a sustainable career that helps them not only financially support themselves and their families, but also care for aging individuals and those needing care in a medical setting.
Every day, the Academy for Caregiving team, guides and empowers individuals, and as we watch them start to believe in themselves and prove to themselves that they can achieve their dreams, our mission is fulfilled, that is our reward!

90 percent of our students are female; and 6 out of 10 are women of color, many of them unemployed or single mothers returning to school.

Your help and support will make it possible for us to continue providing education and connect our students to meaningful employment and a livable wage.
